© 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG. Musculoskeletal function disorders are the most common health problem in the European Union. Improper strain on the musculoskeletal system, during the daily activities of work, constitutes an important source of concern because of the health effects of the employee, as well as the financial consequences for the employer. Additionally, time off work and social costs are also a notable concern. In some countries, musculoskeletal disorders represent 40% of employee compensation costs and up to 1.6% of the state’s Gross Domestic Product [3].
