The project, called Comic Art Workshop, was designed specifically to explore whetheror not graphic storytellers could benefit from the sort of literary workshopping that is familiar to novelists, poets, screenwriters and theatre-makers. This article describes the project in detail, explains its rationale and describes what we learned in facilitating over 28 literary workshop sessions during retreats in 2015 and 2017.
