dc.description.abstract	The publications of property professions are the public face of the organisation and, as such these documents also serve as a window into the organisations philosophy and attitudes toward women in the profession. There has been considerable attention paid to the inequality of women in the workplace and accordingly it might be expected that the professional bodies which regulate the industry would show leadership in ensuring that their publications exhibit no bias. The portrayal of women in photographs is a powerful, yet subtle influencer of how women are viewed in the workplace. This paper analyses photographs in professional bodies publications over the past decade to identify any bias for or against women and to identify how the image of women is changing in response to changing public attitudes.
