It has been over three decades since the publication of the first public relations theory book. Public Relations Theory was important to the development and refinement of public relations theory. Public Relations Theory II provided both a broader and deeper discussion of theory development in the field. It featured public relations-specific theories and included a more global cast of authors and topics. This concluding chapter of Public Relations Theory III steps back to reflect on the body of knowledge from first book of Public Relations Theory through the most current thinking and theorizing about public relations from scholars across the world. It reflects on the evolution of public relations theory, synthesizes the current literature of public relations theory building, and suggests ways forward for future theorizing.
