dc.description.abstract	The 2002 Special Issue of JCSCW special issue on Awareness presented papers on rhetorical tricks and overloaded concepts in awareness. Toni Robertson went on to provide a long list of the different ways the term has been used and expressed hope that someone might write a review paper that mapped the awareness literature along the two dimensions of underlying design philosophy and social and/or technical focus. According to him, awareness can only be achieved by the skilful activity of participants in a shared space if the resources they have learned to recognize, and therefore understand, are publicly available to them. Even Tenenberg introduced their own discussion of the philosophical groundings of awareness by commenting on the many ways the term has been used.	en_US
