dc.description.abstract	Organizational project management (OPM) is the integration of all project management-related activities throughout the organizational hierarchy or network. This paper is a first attempt to show that OPM could be a capability that integrates, combines and embeds project management activities strategically and effectively within the organization. Discussions on the nature of OPM and its role as a capability are grounded in organization theory and the literature on capabilities for effectiveness. This theoretical paper highlights the role of OPM as a capability, an organizational attribute that fosters organizational effectiveness through horizontal and vertical integration of diverse project-related activities. Using the analogy of a car to explain the nature of OPM and the role of OPM capability, one can say that OPM is the self-powered vehicle while OPM as a capability has the role to take people from A to B effectively.	en_US
