dc.description.abstract	When strategically managed, sport can be an exciting and proactive space for economic, social, cultural, physical and educational development. Consequently, around the world government agencies, aid organizations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have been implementing sport-for-development (SFD) projects in disadvantaged communities for several years. Most of these initiatives also include special events such as cultural festivals, sport tournaments and educational workshops as part of the overall program portfolio. In this chapter, we focus on discussing the opportunities and challenges of using ‘highlight events’ as a leverage strategy to reach – and benefit – participants and the wider community.	en_US
